Welcome to the Media and Entertainment Advising Center

The College of Media and Entertainment Advising Center is committed to empowering students to successfully transition into university life, take charge of their educational experience, set academic goals, and graduate as strong representatives of the College and University.

The College of Media and Entertainment Advising Center currently houses nine professional advisors and an administrative assistant; each of them committed to providing the highest level of advising and personal care to ensure that every student in the College of Media and Entertainment is meeting graduation requirements. As a retention initiative, the Center aims to provide consistent, thorough, personalized advising for every student in the College, from orientation to graduation. We believe that a student who develops a long-lasting relationship with an advisor specializing in the student’s chosen major will be more likely to matriculate.

The Center is the primary resource for academic advising. These services include course selection, graduation requirement checks, clarification of academic policies and procedures, early identification of at-risk student populations and provision of appropriate intervention services, timely paperwork completion, and other related matters.

Advising Appointments

College of Media & Entertainment (CME) students can schedule an appointment to meet with their college advisor (in-person or virtually), Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, year round.

Students who call 615-494-7998 to schedule appointments will be asked for their preferred appointment method and those who use the online scheduling system, Navigate, are asked to type this preference in the comments section: Zoom, Phone, Email, or In-Person.

Zoom Appointments: your academic advisor will email you a Zoom appointment link before your scheduled appointment time. Be sure to read all emails related to your appointment.

Phone Appointments: you will call your academic advisor at your scheduled time using the phone number listed in your appointment confirmation email. It is strongly recommended you also type a phone number into the comments section when using the Navigate appointment scheduler. 

Email Appointments: your academic advisor will email your MTSU email account with appointment instructions and details by the scheduled time. 

In-Person Appointments: please arrive to Bragg 230 before your scheduled appointment time.
